How we prepare the data

Useful food data starts with more than collecting product listings. Product identities, ingredient declarations, nutrition panels and images need to be connected and represented consistently.

Product information, brought together

We collect retailer product information and available label evidence, then prepare it through a workflow covering normalisation, evidence checks, exception review and reconciliation.

Ingredients with their structure intact

Ingredient declarations retain their label order. Parsed ingredient trees represent component groups and sub-ingredients, alongside the original declaration.

Nutrition with serving context

Nutrition values stay connected to their serving size, reference quantity and preparation details. Separate nutrition sets represent different panels, including as-sold and as-prepared information.

Barcodes and product identities

Each product has a permanent ID and a barcode in a consistent GTIN-14 format. Package information helps you distinguish sizes, flavours and multipacks when matching records to your catalogue.

Product images connected to records

Image references connect product records to their photos. The image manifest identifies the ZIP archive containing each file.
